Year 10 Religion

Sisters of St Joseph

We were founded in Penola, South Australia in 1866 by an Australian woman Mary MacKillop, and an English priest Reverand Julien Tenison Wood.

Trove- Catholic Sisters in Australia

Loreto sisters

Since her first companions gathered with Mary Ward in 1609, her vision has inspired women from every continent to join together to serve where “the need is greatest” across 45 countries. Today the two branches, Congregation of Jesus and IBVM-Loreto, work increasingly closely together, educating women so that they might live creatively their particular call from God and contribute to a better world.

Marist Sisters

Marist Sisters in Australia gathered recently for a liturgy of remembrance and thanksgiving. The liturgy involved a pilgrimage to the grave sites where sisters who have died in Sydney, Australia, are buried. These women and all deceased Marist Sisters have shared our Marist life and lived in fidelity so we remember, honour and celebrate them.

Good Samaritan Sisters

We the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, are religious women whose desire is to seek God. Our spirituality, nourished by the ancient Rule of Benedict and the Good Samaritan parable, is expressed in our commitment to community life, prayer, justice, hospitality and compassionate service. We take seriously Jesus’ Gospel command to go and be neighbours.

Sisters of Mercy

The story of the Sisters of Mercy in Australia and Papua New Guinea begins in Ireland on December 12, 1831.

Dominican Sisters

Dominic was educated for the priesthood and was invited to become a Canon of the Cathedral at Osma in Spain. After journeys to Denmark and Rome, as companion of his diplomat Bishop, Diego Acebes, Diego and Dominic were convinced that they had a new mission – to bring the gospel message to the market place as PREACHERS, firstly among the people who followed the Albigensian Heresy.
