This is the oldest Benedictine monastery, one of 12 founded by the saint of Norcia in Subiaco and the only one that survived the centuries, between Saracen looting and earthquakes. Initially dedicated to San Silvestro , in addition to the name, it presents itself to us with a different aspect from that of its early years.
